Georgian English Silver Marrow Scoop, GG c1797

 

 

DescriptionA very good, 18th century, George III, English Sterling Silver Marrow Scoop made in London and dating from c1797. It is hallmarked with the maker's mark GG for George Gray, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head Crowned London town mark and date letter B for 1797. This marrow scoop is in excellent condition. It measures approximately 9" inches (230mm) in length. The weight is 38.8g. A lovely example of English Georgian silver for the antique silver collector.
